Language Access Week is June 9 – 13
First up, let’s introduce ourselves – we are World Speaks Omaha, a Nebraska-based organization that believes that language access is a basic right. Learn more about us by visiting our website by clicking the Learn More button.
What is Language Access?
Language access is when the resources and information that individuals need most are provided in the language they completely understand. This helps make things like getting medical care, navigating school systems, and connecting with the community easier – for everyone.
What is Language Access Week?
Language Access Week, which runs from June 9-13, celebrates organizations who practice language access in the Omaha Metro community and the great state of Nebraska! To learn more about Language Access and the organizations who use it, visit our social media channels!
We are also hosting an event so that folks who speak English as their first language know what it’s like to need interpretation, a language access tool. You can learn more about that event by clicking the Sign Up to Make Empanadas! button.
We'd like to also thank our Sponsors Valmont Industries Inc, Physicians Mutual, and Emspace+Lovgren.
We appreciate your support whether it is helping us reach our goal of raising a matching $2,000, sharing our messages on social media the entire week, and/or joining us at our event to make empanadas!
